Benito

Eduardo Garcia Benito Born 1891, Valladolio, Died 1981, Valladolio.

Moved to Paris in 1910 becoming established as a skilled decorative artist and illustrator.

The most famous Fashion Magazine Publishers were soon made aware of Benito?s talent for stylized graphic art and he was duly employed by Gazette Du Bon Ton, La Guirlande, Les Feuillets D?art and other established periodicals.

During the 1920?s Conde Nast the owner of Vogue Magazine persuaded Benito to work for them to illustrate the front covers of Vogue and Vanity Fair. His art became so popular he aspired to the principal artist for Conde Nast for the next twenty years.

He continued to contribute to Vogue into the 1950's before terminating his employment to enjoy his retiral. Benito died in 1981 at the age of 80 in his birth-place of Valladolio. Eduardo Benito?s drawings are usually tall slender graceful figures in high fashion clothing.
